Hotel Son Siurana Agroturismo

A mere 15 minutes' drive from the most beautiful beaches we came across this interesting place to stay: Hotel Agriturismo Son Siurana, a renovated old farm estate. Not only did this used to be a big livestock farm, but the produce of the land, such as almonds and figs, also used to be processed right here on the farm. As a result of this diversity, there are a number of cottages and houses on the farm, all of which have been beautifully renovated and are available to rent. The renovation has been done in a manner sympathetic to the typical building style of Majorca, giving the properties a really authentic feel.
The complex consists of 5 cottages, accommodating 2 people each, 1 larger house accommodating 4 people, 2 apartments accommodating 4 people each and one junior suite. In total, the accommodation caters for 24 people, effectively a small-scale complex.
And of course, it also offers such facilities as a (large) swimming pool, terraces, barbecue and everywhere you look there are plenty of cosy little corners. All the cottages and apartments have been furnished with warm, rustic furniture and also feature quite a few pieces of equipment which remind you that this farm was once a working farm, as well as handmade ceramics, all of which in typical Majorcan style.
Son Siurana is set in an incredible 100 hectares of land so you can go for long walks on the estate to lookouts which offer spectacular views of the bays of Pollença and Alcudia. Almonds, figs and other produce are still grown on the Finca today and sheep are also left to graze freely about the farm. Depending on the season, guests may pick fruit and vegetables to prepare a meal with. Alternatively, meals can be taken in the complex's own restaurant, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it goes without saying that the restaurant uses a lot of home-grown produce from its own gardens. You really can't get it any fresher than this!
This is such a lovely rural place to stay, allowing you to both enjoy your own privacy and make use of hotel facilities.

Cons:
• None to speak of except perhaps that there is a through road at about 200 metres from the property. The road noise was not really an issue for us but you can hear it in the distance.

Alcúdia
A small town on the north coast of Majorca, between the bays of Alcúdia and Pollença, completely surrounded by medieval town walls.
Within the town walls, you will find the San Jaime parish church which was added as a corner pillar to the fortress. You can walk along both the inside and outside of the well-maintained wall which will also take you past the approximately 100-year-old bullring.
Most of the hotels are situated around Port d'Alcúdia, about 3 km south of the town. During the summer season, Port d'Alcúdia is a busy seaside resort with lots of hotels, apartments, cafés, nightclubs and tourists.
Palma de Mallorca is situated within 45 minutes (60 km) from Alcúdia.
