Hotel Hospes Palau de la Mar
If you want to visit Valencia in style, then this is the perfect hotel for your stay.
Situated on the edge of the old city centre, the hotel is housed in a stunning and impressive building which was once part of an old city palace from the 19th century. As you enter the lobby, you are immediately struck by the hotel's wow factor, fabulous! Brilliant combination of the original old style, evocative of times gone by, and the modern feel of a contemporary design hotel. As you enter this modern hotel, you walk on a slightly creaky dark wooden floor, quite special. The smart and super-friendly staff at the reception desk will see to you straightaway and from that moment on, you totally get to experience what you came here for, to enjoy your stay as a guest!
There are over 60 rooms in this exquisite hotel, obviously arranged according to different levels of luxury: The Dreamer's Double Room has a slick modern decor with all the amenities you would expect in a hotel of this standard, including a large bed, TV and DVD player, a beautiful bathroom, a music system and free internet connection.
The larger Deluxe Rooms have been decorated in avant-garde style, come with a king-size bed, wooden floor, gorgeous spacious bathrooms with bath and rain shower, plasma TV and free internet connection. The Junior Suites offer a separate lounge on top of all this. And if you really want to go all out, you may opt to stay in the Presidential Suite with 2 bedrooms, a large lounge and a massive bathroom.
As far as dining is concerned, the Senzone restaurant is an absolutely top quality restaurant. It has its own entrance and is a popular choice with many locals as a nice place to dine out. The restaurant promises to take you on a journey of Mediterranean flavours, using produce from Valencia, and all of this is, of course, served to you with the presentation of a beautiful modern painting.
A stay in a luxury hotel would not be complete without a visit to the spa. And why not indulge in some nice relaxing spa treatments as well?
The hotel's Bodyna Spa is arranged into 2 zones where you can while away quite a few hours. You will find the Wellness department in zone 1 with such facilities as an indoor swimming pool-Jacuzzi, a steam bath, sauna and fitness area. The second zone is where a wide variety of spa treatments take place which can be combined into various packages. When you leave here, you will feel wonderfully rejuvenated!
Hotel Hospes Palau de la Mar is a top hotel on all levels. From the moment you arrive until the time you leave, you will be fully pampered and even the tiniest details are taken care of by the extremely nice staff.

surrounding area
Valencia
How could you not enjoy spending time in a city which has more than 300 days of sunshine a year?
The old city centre is fairly compact, a walk around the city will take you along all of the places of interest Valencia has to offer.
From the Catedral de Santa Mará at the Plaza de la Reina, where you can climb the Micalet for a wonderful view of the city, along many other churches and buildings: Real Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados, Palau de la Generalitat (buildings of parliament), Iglesia de San Nicolás (old church), Lonja de la Seda (the Silk Exchange), Iglesia de San Martín, Museo Nacional de Cerámica ´González Marti´(ceramic art museum), Real Colegio del Patriarca (renaissance palace) and the Almudin (old grain depot).
There are also plenty of museums to visit, including the Museo de Historia de Valencia and the Museo de Bellas Artas (museum of fine arts).
Make sure that you do not miss out on the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. This huge imposing and futuristic complex houses the Hemisfèric (IMAX theatre), Museo de las Ciencas Principe Felipe (interactive science museum), Oceanogràfic (with plenty of aquariums and the longest underwater tunnel in Europe (70 metres long)) and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (big theatre).
And if you have had enough of looking at buildings and walking around the city, you can chill out in one of the many parks dotted around Valencia, the Jardines del Turia or the Jardines del Real.
Or perhaps you fancy taking a nice look around the first botanic garden of Spain, the Jardín Botánico.
Valencia, just like Barcelona, offers that great combination of city and beach: hop on the underground and within 10 minutes, you will have reached the long beach of Playa de la Malvarrosa.
There really is more to Valencia than its paella culture, it is also a very trendy city with a fantastic nightlife.
And if you want to learn Spanish or wish to take dance classes, there are plenty of options available to you here, plus you will also get to know a lot of new people along the way. Bonus!
Active
Take a walk around the city or explore Valencia by bicycle.
Family
A visit to the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, where you can find the science museum, the Oceanogràfic and the Hemisfèric, is highly recommended!
The Oceanogràfic is home to over 45,000 aquatic animals. At the science museum, there are plenty of experiments for everyone to get stuck into and the Hemisfèric shows films for all ages on a huge screen which really gives you a sense of being right in the middle of the action.
And let's not forget the beach, always great for a fun time!
Other nice places to take the children are the gardens, the Jardines del Real with a road safety training park, and the Jardín Botánico. Or you could climb 'Gulliver' in the Jardines del Turia.
