987 Barcelona Hotel

Barcelona

The contrast here really will astound you. Behind the beautiful period façade lies a completely different world. A world of an avant-garde design hotel that has managed to retain the warm and peaceful atmosphere so many visitors crave.
This recently opened, beautiful hotel has a very central city location, more specifically in the Eixample district, near the famous Paseo de Gracia and only a 5 minutes' walk away from Gaudi's “La Pedrera” and Casa Battló.
Museums, buildings of interest and shopping facilities are all within walking distance.
The hotel has 88 rooms and despite its size exudes so much tranquillity it is a veritable oasis in the heart of this dynamic city. An excellent and wonderful base from which to explore the city in style. The rooms are just as stunning as the hotel lobby, with carefully chosen, fresh colours and furnishings, completely balanced and with rich contrasts. Here too, a lot of attention was paid to maintaining that feeling of total tranquillity. For instance, all rooms have special double glazing to keep out the city noise.
The 987 Barcelona Hotel also has a large lounge where you can relax after a busy day and where you can sip the most delicious cocktails served to you by the friendly staff.
You will also more than enjoy your dining experience in the hotel's modern and wonderful restaurant, with the same characteristic avant-garde design, where you can savour fresh dishes and quality wines.
In short, a wonderful hotel in an equally wonderful city!

Cons:
• A swimming pool on the roof would be really popular in this type of hotel but unfortunately this is currently missing

Pros:
• Beautiful use of furnishings and colours throughout
• Very polite and friendly staff
• Central location
• Oasis in the heart of a dynamic city

Barcelona
Barcelona is a popular destination and you can easily see why. This city has literally got it all: numerous places of interest; a fabulous, clean beach; plenty of pavement cafés; good food; trendy shops and a vibrant nightlife!

As far as places of interest are concerned, you are absolutely spoilt for choice! To list but a few:
How about taking a look around Gaudi's works of art: park Güell, La Sagrada Familia, Casa La Pedrera/Casa Milà.
You can work your way around the city's places of interest district by district. For instance, in the old city, you will find the cathedral and many art museums, Museu Picasso and, of course, also historic buildings such as Casa de la Ciutat, Palau de la Generalitat.

Take a stroll down the Rambla (although we think that the more northerly Rambla de Catalunya is more worthwhile!).
In the Eixample district, you will find de Sagrada Familia but do not forget about the Modernista buildings (such as Casa Milà, La Pedrera, Casa Terrades, Hospital de la Santa).
Shop until you drop in the fashionable shops along the Passeig del Gràcia.
Take the little train up to the top of the Montjuïc hill to the Castell de Montjuïc, take a moment to enjoy the fantastic view of de city and then visit the Plaça d´Espanya, the Poble Espanyol (copy of a Spanish village built in different Spanish architectural styles) and various museums.
And there is also something of interest for the football enthusiasts among you: the Museu del Futbol Club Barcelona which, combined with a tour of the stadium, is a fabulous attraction in itself (particularly great for dads and their sons).

And when you have had your fill of the city's abundant cultural offerings for awhile, simply head to the beach of Barceloneta with its groovy beach tents for some good food and flashy cocktails. The city's motto seems to be to enjoy life to the max and why not?

So as you can see, there is never a dull moment in this top city. One visit will leave you wanting for one thing only... to return for another visit soon!
