In the centre of the island of Majorca, we stumbled upon such a hidden gem in the village of Lloseta: a small-scale, stunning family-run hotel which completely took us by surprise. This family really knows what it takes to run a special hotel and how to spoil its guests. The location is simply breathtaking, the hotel is built up against the cathedral and the building dates from the 18th century. It has been restored to a spectacular standard, with exceptional attention to detail, both where the interior and exterior of the hotel are concerned. It is obvious that the family are totally aware of the historic value of not only the building but also the location. This is absolutely magnificent.
The hotel has 8 rooms which are in high demand and we have seen the reason for this first hand. The rooms consist of 4 double rooms and 4 suites. They are very spacious and have been decorated in a warm and cosy style, again with great attention to detail.
In addition to this, there is also a fabulous spa with sauna, Turkish bath, whirlpool, thermal loungers, rain showers and massage treatments are available on request. The use of the spa is included in the room price, but the massage treatments are obviously excluded. Whilst the spa is not that big, it certainly does the trick after a day on the road in Majorca and let's face it, it is not exactly a hardship to sit back and relive the day's experiences in such beautifully styled surroundings. Afterwards, it's time to rejoin the land of the living, totally rejuvenated, for a mouthwatering dinner! The international cuisine has been given a Majorcan twist, very original and, above all, extremely tasty! The hotel is situated near a number of large bodegas which is very noticeable from the selection of quality regional wines on offer. Very handy then that you do not have to drive anywhere afterwards. To get to your room, all you have to do is go up a few steps, that is if your room is situated at the top floor of the hotel.
The following morning, breakfast awaits and it really is one of the better breakfasts you will have tasted. The super-friendly staff serve you the most delicious local delicacies which will sustain you for quite a long time. Don't forget to try the tasty Majorcan bread.
This really is a hidden gem in a place where you would not expect to find it. Also, its central location makes it an excellent base from which to explore this beautiful island.

Lloseta
Lloseta is a small village on Mallorca with approximately 4,500 inhabitants. It is situated in the middle of the island, near the Sierra de Tramuntana.
Inca (5 km; 12 min.) is a charming neighbouring village. It has a weekly market which takes place every Thursday. The village is also known for the manufacture of leather goods and shoes.
Palma de Mallorca is situated within 30 minutes (32 km) from Lloseta.

The nearest beaches are approximately 40 minutes away.
